Local food, local drinks, and the local community were all mixed together at the Hatch grand opening party on Thursday, January 30th, which Springboard Innovation co-hosted with Albina Opportunities Corporation. Throughout the night, tenants guided community members through the spaces, showing off the great space in which social and local enterprises are making their new home. The event had a great turnout, and resulted in many new connections, as well as new Hatch memberships.

The community support was visible at the refreshments area, with beverages donated by Harvester Brewing and Reverend Nat’s hard cider (Reverend Nat was even there himself, manning the kegs!). Bull Run Distillery came to the party, with a very generous offer to make cocktails with their great range of spirits. Albina Opportunities Corporation provided a great selection of Atomic Pizza , and Springboard Innovation put on a spread of local hazelnut-finished pork delicacies from Tails & Trotters and delicious pies from Pie Spot. No wonder there was not a single crumb left at the end of the night.

Speakers included Springboard Innovation and Hatch founder Amy Pearl, along with XRAY.FM’s Jefferson Smith, representative Jules Bailey, Amy Cortese (author of Locavesting), Patrick Regan from the Harbourton Foundation, and Terry Brandt from Albina Opportunities Corporation.

All of us at Hatch and Springboard Innovation want to say a huge thank you to all Hatch funders, supporters, friends and family, plus all of our tenants and members. Thanks also to everyone who came along on the night, or supported us in spirit – the community is feeling stronger every day, and we look forward to achieving all kinds of great things in 2014 and beyond.
